Prinsjesdag stallions successful at the KWPN

2008-12-29

After the completion of the autumn perfomance tests at the KWPN, the stallion Alicante HBC has been registered in the stud book with high marks. In 2005, Alicante HBC- under the name of Casares M- was auctioned at the National Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. The breeder is Ron Nowee of Stoeterij ’t Maalwater in Oude Niedorp. The HBC Stal te Boyl is the owner of this new KWPN stud stallion.

Alicante HBC was registered with an 8.5 for scope and all 8s for canter, reflexes, ridability, disposition and potential as a show jumping horse. He had a grand total of 80 points.

Alicante HBC is a great example of the successful strategy employed by Prinsjesdag which has been a source of so many outstanding sports horses and licensed stallions. The NVP has an extremely rigorous selection procedure based on the athletic build and movement of sports foals that have a genetically valuable sports pedigree.

So, thus, such an animal is Alicante HBC: a beautiful, fully-developed son of the Holstein top progenitor Casall, who is being brought out in Grand Prix show jumping by Rolf-Göran Bengtsson. His dam Texas, bred out of Holstein stock 8777, is a daughter of the hallmark stallion Indoctro. Grandam U-Laester (Lagos) is a half-sister to the top stallions Lansing (Landgraf I), Cantus (Caletto I) and Calvin (Caletto II).

At the Prinsjesdag auction of 2006, Jan Vink and Mr. Prakken of Woerden bought the colt Bustique (Indoctro x Grannus x Argentinus) for € 46,000. Last week, this young stallion, who is now 2.5 years old, was selected to be put through for the second viewing on grounds of his conformation and his excellent aptitude for show jumping.
At the time, Bustique was sold by the combination Van de Wijgaard & Schipper of Prinsenbeek.
